Equity position

The Barreirinhas Basin, Brazil, sits on the conjugate margin of Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana, with successful drilling campaigns in recent years indicating an analogue for significant hydrocarbon generation. Whilst relatively underexplored, the shallow water wells in the basin have encountered excellent quality, oil-prone source rocks modelled to be oil mature in the fetch area for Chariot’s targets and excellent quality Tertiary and Upper Cretaceous turbidite reservoir rocks have been encountered in nearby deepwater drilling with good porosity and permeability.

  • Four shallow water blocks adjacent to major explorers – including Shell, PTTEP, Petrobras
  • Fast Follower Positioning secured with low cost seismic option and signature bonus
  • Conjugate basin to Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire
  • All petroleum play elements proven by nearby drilling
  • Drill ready, Priority Prospect 1 gross mean prospective resource of 911mmbbls
  • Partnering Process underway
